良く眠れなかったまま起床。
Waking up without sleeping.
周囲は昼食を摂っているが私はなし。
Everyone is eating lunch but not for me.
午前中から手術の患者さんが手術室へ。
From morning, some patients went for surgery.
待合室では手術を待つ家族が沢山いる。
There were many family at waiting room.
私の手術は午後なので手持ち無沙汰。
I was bored since my surgery was in the afternoon.
そうこうしているうちに下剤が効いて来た。
Then, pills I took started working.
便が出た所に更に追い打ちをかけて座薬を入れる。
After that, I have to have suppository to empty my stomach.
座薬を渡されたけれど、本当は嫌でたまらない。
I was given it but I really hated putting it in.
とりあえず、頑張ってみるか。
Oh, well, I should try...
座薬は冷蔵庫に入っていたようで冷たい。
Suppository was so cold like it just came out of fridge.
お尻の穴に違和感を感じる。
My butt hole felt strange.
私：座薬を入れて何分くらい経ったらトイレに行っていいですか？
I: how many minute am I supposed to wait till go to the bathroom?
看護士：辛いけど、20分くらいは我慢して。
Nurse: It might be tough...but wait for 20 minutes.
とりあえず、テレビを見ながら我慢。
So, I watched television and waited.
20分経ってトイレには行った物の特に何も出なかった。
Nothing really came out for waiting for 20 minutes.
手術中に便意があったら格好悪い。そう思っていたら手術のお迎え。
I was thinking about it's so embarrassing to have bowls while surgery...and time has come for surgery.
血栓が出来ないようにサージカルストッキングを履いて手術室へ。
I wore surgical stockings not to have a blood clot and went to an operation room.
手術着に着替える。担当の医師の一人が手術着でご挨拶。
Changed my outfit. One of my doctor in surgery outfit said hello.
手術室に入って麻酔の為にベッドに横たわる。
Went into the room and lay down on the bed.
執刀医に「寝ていて目が覚めたら手術は終わっているからね。」と言われ安心する。
My doctor said " Surgery will be finished while you are sleeping." and I felt relieved.
壁には沢山の自分の腎臓の画像、台にはメスやらハサミが揃っている。
On the wall, there were various pictures of my kidney, on the table, there was an exhibition of surgery tools.
麻酔は予定通り硬膜外麻酔になりました。少しドキドキ。
Epidural anesthesia will be done as it planned...my heart was beating.
横に寝て太股の裏に手を添えてお臍を見て丸くなる。
You lay by your side and put your hands to your thigh and look at your belly.
ピラティスのローリング・ライク・ア・ボールというポーズのような感じ。
It's just like pilates pose called "Rolling Like A Ball".
背中が押されるような不思議な痛み。想像していたほどに痛くない。
Weird pain like your back is pushed, but not as painful as my imagination.
そして硬膜外麻酔が終わると仰向けになり、今度は全身麻酔。
After that painkiller, then, You look up the ceiling and have General Anesthesia.
酸素マスクから深い呼吸。麻酔は甘い匂いがした。
Deep breath with oxygen mask...it smelled sweet.
どうやら子供用のバニラ味が残っていたらしい。
It was vanilla flavor which was used for surgery of kid before me.
深い呼吸を続けたら意識がなくなった。
When I had a deep breath, My consciousness has gone.
起きた時は前日、私の質問に応じてくれた先生がいた。
When I woke up, the doctor answered my question was standing there.
無事に手術が予定通り終わりましたと言われた。
I was told that my surgery was done as it was planned.
時間が気になり、何時ですか？と聞くと8時だった。
I asked him what time it was and it was 8:00 at night.
手術が無事に終わった事、関わってくれた方に対する感謝で一杯だった。
I really appreciated to everyone who has related to my surgery and I was alive.
特に痛みもなく、病室に戻った。途中で母が視界に入った。
There was no pain and I went back to the room, I saw my mom on the way.
「無事に手術終わったわよ」って言っていたから手を振った気がする。
She was saying "Your surgery was done successfully"so, I might have waved to her.
病室に戻ったら母がくる気配がした。寝た振り。寝た振り。
I felt my mom was coming into my room. I pretended like I was sleeping.
「あ、寝ちゃったみたいね。帰りましょう。」それでいいのだ。
I've heard her saying "She is a sleep so, let's go home." cool.
その後だ。いきなり物凄い悪寒と震えが襲って来たのは。
It was after that when I started to shake by feeling freezing.
ナースコール！「どうしましたか？」「寒いです。」
Nurse call! "What happened?" "I am freezing."
冗談ではなくて、本当に歯がガタガタいって身体が震えている。
It's not any joke that my teeth was making noise and my body was shaking.
看護士「足に湯たんぽ入れておきますね。こういうことは術後よくあるので心配はいらないですよ。」
Nurse: "I put hot water bottle in your leg area. This happens a lot after surgery so don't worry."
10分くらいしたら震えが収まった。そうしたら、次は全身が熱くなり汗が吹き出た。
After 10 minutes, my shake has gone. Then, my body started heating and started to get sweaty.
ナースコール！「どうしましたか？」「今度は熱いんですけれども」湯たんぽを取り、今度は氷枕。
Nurse call! "What happened?" "It's so hot this time." Getting rid of hot bottle and then ice pillow.
術後に熱が出るとは話によく聞いていたが、こういうことだったのか。。。
I have heard a lot about having fever after surgery...this is it...
そして、少しずつ麻酔が覚めてこれから痛みが襲って来るのが分かった。
Then, I could tell that I was getting out of anesthesia and started to feel pain.
痛み止めのボタンを押すが、それがなかなか固い。。。
I pushed button of pain killers but it was quite hard...
ズキン、ズキンとする痛みに熱さ。
throbbing pain on stomach and fever.
そして足につけられた血栓防止の装置の騒音で眠れなかった。
and the sound of motor of machine to avoid cerebral prevented me to sleep.
だから本を読もうとしてベッドを起して、ナースコールで本を取って頂こうとしたら、
So, I tried to read books. When I called nurse to take my books on the desk,
「まだ手術初日なので安静にしていて下さい」と怒られてしまった。
"Please rest since it's the first day of surgery." and scolded.
喉が痛かった。起きれない代わりに冷たい水でうがいをさせてくれた。
My throat was in pain. Since I couldn't get up, she let me gargle my mouth.
